As a photographer, designer, painter, mosaicist artist, as well as teacher, I create art to sustain my life and spirit. As a native New Yorker I am inspired by people, their faces, their stories and even the garbage they leave behind! My art inspires others to recycle found objects such as broken mirrors, discarded plates and abandoned furnishings. These orphaned items act as the base for my mosaic artwork. They find a new home in all my mosaics whose visual themes revolve around our world’s basic elements: earth, air, water, fire.
Over the past 20 years I have created hundreds of mosaic plates, tables, chairs and other decorative home furnishings. Each mosaic is an artistic 3D puzzle where the creative possibilities are endless. A broken mirror and glass beads from a damaged necklace plus other found objects from the city streets are just some of the many recycled parts used to create my work.
